Code P0300 — Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

The P0300 code is triggered when the ECM detects random or multiple cylinder misfires. Unlike codes P0301–P0308 which target a specific cylinder, P0300 indicates the misfire is not isolated to one cylinder. This can cause rough running, increased emissions, catalytic converter damage if left unaddressed, and poor fuel economy. Misfires occur when combustion fails to complete properly in one or more cylinders during the power stroke.
